You must cancel a class that you find you cannot attend BEFORE the class session begins. If you do not, your unattended registration will be recorded as a "No Show" on your Training and Development personnel file.
Please be advised:
- Training sessions are designed to begin and end on time. If you miss the beginning of class, the instructor would have to stop the training to catch you up on information already provided. This not only takes time away from training, but is disrespectful of those already in the session. If you cannot make a class on time, or have to leave early, please do not attend the session and instead register for one where you can gain the full benefit of the training.
- No children are allowed in training classes.
- Please do not check e-mail or perform other work duties during training as this is distracting to other participants.
- If there are any disability issues that will need to be addressed during training, you will need to contact Robert Hume at robert.hume@hccs.edu at least two weeks before the class date in order to have time to accommodate your needs.
Prerequisites for CIT Classes
Some courses have a prerequisite that must be met BEFORE you register:
Before taking any of the certification classes you must be familiar with the use of a computer keyboard and a mouse, and you must be able to perform the following tasks:
Windows Operating System: use the Start Menu; create folders; use Notepad/Wordpad; use Desktop icons; work with My Computer; copy or move files/folders to another location; use Search to locate files and folders; minimize/restore Windows; switch between open applications/multiple windows
Applications: cut, copy, and paste text; use the Save/Save as function correctly
Web Browsers: use URL's to view web pages; use Favorites List/Bookmarks; edit Browser Preference
Interactive Tools Practicum: This class requires completion of Online Interactive Tools before taking the class.
