How Do I Bring Forward A Complaint?
The Office of Institutional Equity (OIE) takes all complaints of discrimination seriously. If you would like to file a complaint with regard to discrimination or harassment questions you should contact the Office of Institutional Equity (OIE) to speak with one of the staff members, or click on link to request an Intake Form to complete. Once contacted the OIE staff will explain your options regarding the internal and formal procedures and discuss with you the details of both processes. Students and employees may file either one of the two types of complaints described below:
- Informal Complaints: Appropriate when the conduct in question is neither severe nor pervasive. An inquiry is conducted and the OIE focuses on resolution through coaching or counseling.
- Formal Complaints: OIE conducts an investigation into the allegations of discrimination/harassment and makes a determination as to whether or not such conduct violated HCC Policy.
