About Employee Relations

The Employee Relations Office of Human Resources handles employee grievances, terminations, non-renewals, policy interpretations, transfers, performance issues, disciplinary actions and coordination with the UT Employee Assistance Program (UTEAP).

All employees of Houston Community College have access to the services of this unit which is located at 3100 Main, 3rd Floor. The main telephone number is (713) 718-8606.

HR professional staff members (HR Generalists) are located at HCC college campus sites to provide quick and efficient advice and service to employees.

It is the role of the HR Generalist to serve as the primary contact for human resources issues. These individuals are available to interact with all HCC employees when the need arises.

Employees should feel free to contact their assigned HR Generalist for advice or to seek information about such HR issues as:

The role of the HR Generalist is not intended to be an “advocate” for employees or management, but to provide advice and counsel to each. They are also charged with ensuring that all employee actions are taken with a sense of fairness and appropriateness and in accordance with HCC policy.
