Adjunct Faculty Returning from Adjunct Semester Break Checklist

  • Use for hiring employee with break in service of less than twelve (12) consecutive months beginning with the fall semester 2009.  All adjunct faculty members who taught for HCC during the fall semester 2009 (and did not voluntarily terminate employment) were placed on semester break at the end of the fall semester.  Use the checklist above for those faculty who taught for HCC in the fall semester 2009 and will teach in the spring semester 2010.

New Adjunct Faculty Checklist

  • Use for hiring employee who has never worked for HCC or has had a break in service of more than twelve (12) months

Emergency Hire Checklist

  • An EMERGENCY HIRE is defined as a same day or next day hire, required due to unforeseen circumstances beyond Department Chair’s control. Any hire beyond two day’s notice must use the usual PT hiring process.

  • Use for a current part-time employee (faculty or staff) who changes job positions or adds an assignment or a full-time employee (faculty or staff) in an active assignment who acquires a part-time position.

Faculty-specific

Faculty Certification of Standards Form/ADULT EDUCATION (PDF)

Faculty Certification of Standards Form CTCE CEU (PDF)

Certification of Standards Form (Used for all Academic, Developmental, Librarian & Workforce Faculty) This form is used when an academic faculty has a Master’s degree or higher in the teaching discipline.

Justification Request for Faculty Competence (Used for all Workforce Faculty, but is optional for Academic and Developmental Faculty) This form is used to establish the employee’s background and experience related to the student learning outcomes of the teaching assignment.  The form should provide helpful & supportive information when the faculty’s background is not readily apparent as to how it relates to the teaching assignment.  The form may also be used for Academic and Developmental faculty when the qualifying degree is not in the teaching discipline.

Verification of Work Experience Form (Used for all Workforce and Developmental Faculty)This form determines if the Workforce faculty has at least three (3) years of required industry experience related to their teaching discipline.  Other documentation to assist in qualifying the individual may be attached with this form.  Developmental faculty need to have verification of teaching or tutoring experience in the discipline (verifying document must be attached to this form).
