Vacation
VACATION
All twelve (12) month, full-time benefits-eligible employees are eligible for vacation based on length of full-time continuous employment. A break in full-time continuous service will result in treatment as a new employee for vacation determination.
Eligibility for vacation shall be determined at the beginning of the fiscal year of the employee's anniversary year. All vacation for employees after the first year of accrual shall be given beginning on the first day of September.
Employees may take vacation leave at the discretion and with the advanced approval of the immediate supervisor.
Twelve (12) month, full-time employees are eligible for vacation as follows:
First-year employees:
Vacation begins accruing on the first of the month following the month of employment at the rate of 0.83 days per month. New employees can take vacation 90 days after the point at which they began accruing vacation. During the first year of employment, vacation may only be taken as accrued.
Employed for less than five years: 80 vacation hours/year.
Employed for at least five (5) years, but less than fifteen (15) years: 120 vacation hours/year.
Employed for fifteen (15) years or more: 160 vacation hours/year.
