Vacation
All twelve (12) month, full-time benefits-eligible employees are eligible for vacation based on length of full-time continuous employment. A break in full-time continuous service will result in treatment as a new employee for vacation determination.
Eligibility for vacation shall be determined at the beginning of the fiscal year of the employee's anniversary year. All vacation time will be accrued each pay period and is not available for use until accrued and with the advanced approval of the immediate supervisor. Accruals are prorated based on days worked in the month for vacation-eligible employees.
Twelve (12) month, full-time employees are eligible for vacation as follows:
First-year employees: Vacation begins accruing at a rate of 3.334 hours on the pay period in which they start working. Employees can take vacation only after it is accrued.
The threshold years for earning 4 weeks of vacation will increase from 15 to 20 years of service. Employees who will attain 15 years of service within the 2011-2012 fiscal year will be grandfathered into Tier 3 (4 weeks per year), accruing 6.667 hours of vacation time each pay period. Those employees who currently earn 160 hours annually will continue at that level.
