Corrections Success Stories
Mr. Cuevas attended Houston Community College /Correctional Education Programs, Auto Paint and Body Class for approximately 16 weeks, completing in October 2010. He is currently a plant supervisor at B.P. Industrial in Texas City. He keeps in touch with Auto Paint and Body Shop instructor Mr. Gomez, to recruit fellow students for future employment once released for a second chance at life.
Mr. Gonzales completed Houston Community College/ Correctional Education Programs, Welding Class in September 2010. During his 16 weeks of hands on training he became a very good Short Arc Welder. Once he was released he was recommended by his instructor Mr. Hickman for his great work ability to a Vessel Shop in South Houston as a helper. He later became a certified Welder for the company.
Mr. Jordan and Mr. Padgett met while attending Houston Community College/ Correctional Education Programs Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Class back in January 2010. Both having prior work experience, Mr. Jordan an electrician and Mr. Padgett having worked on commercial appliances, they both took the necessary steps to obtain as much knowledge as they could. Once released, they opened up an A/C Electrical and Commercial Appliance Shop.
