Houston Community College students can be considered for all scholarships offered through the Houston Community College System Foundation by completing a single online application. The application process is easy, and all interested students are encouraged to apply.
Many Scholarships Are Available
Some people think that only students with perfect academic success can receive a scholarship. In fact, the Houston Community College Scholarship Foundation offers hundreds of scholarships for students from all kinds of academic and personal backgrounds pursuing a variety of career goals; many of these scholarships require enrollment in Houston Community College and a minimum 2.0 GPA.
Below are just a few examples of the scholarships available to Houston Community College students:
- Scholarships for students from disadvantaged backgrounds
- Scholarships for those pursuing degrees or certification in specific fields, such as the fine arts, nursing, technology, or photography
- Scholarships for students attending a specific Houston Community College or who live in a designated community
- Scholarships for students who have overcome adversity or who can show economic hardship

Applying for a Scholarship Is Easy
To apply for all available Houston Community College Scholarships, please fill out the online scholarship application. You will be considered for every scholarship for which you appear eligible.
Scholarships are awarded once a year in the spring for the following fall and spring semesters. The application deadline for the 2009-2010 school year is May 4, 2009.
Employee and Staff Scholarships. Houston Community College faculty and staff members and their legal dependents are eligible for consideration for scholarships supported by the HCCS Faculty & Staff Campaign. These scholarships are chosen by lottery in May for the following fall and spring semesters. Applicants for this scholarship should complete the Houston Community College Scholarship Foundation application and complete it by the May 4, 2009 deadline.
College Connection Scholarships. College Connection scholarships are available only to Houston Community College students who completed the seven-step College Connection program during their senior year in high school. All College Connection participants will have completed the HCCS Foundation online application as part of their College Connection experience.
