IIE- Houston for Students IIE provides several internship opportunities to current university students and recent graduates who are interested in international affairs. These internships are affiliated with a number of local IIE/Houston programs, and are generously underwritten by local charitable and civic organizations, including the Houston Junior Chamber of Commerce, The Oklahoma City Community Foundation, and the Colin and Brooke Lee Foundation. American Association of Community Colleges (AACC) | Grant Opportunities Page
The American Association of Community Colleges actively advocates an international role for community colleges in all dimensions of worldwide education and training. The goals of AACC's Office of International Programs and Services are to increase global awareness in the college community, assist colleges to internationalize their programs and curricula, and to facilitate person-to person international experiences and cooperation.

The Institute of International Education is a world leader in the international exchange of people and ideas. An independent, nonprofit organization founded in 1919, IIE has 19 offices worldwide, including IIE Houston, over 800 college and university IIENetwork members, and more than 5,000 volunteers. IIE designs and implements programs of study and training for students, educators, young professionals and trainees from all sectors with funding from government agencies, foundations, and corporations. These programs include the Fulbright and Humphrey Fellowships, administered for the U.S. Department of State, and the People, Energy, and Development program administered for USAID. IIE also conducts policy research, and provides advising and counseling on international education and opportunities abroad.

International Consortium for Educational and Economic Development (ICEED)
The International Consortium for Educational and Economic Development was created to bring together higher education and other educational institutions from México, Canada and the United States for purposes related to the dual thrusts of community and economic development through the sharing of resources and developing projects, programs and relationships of mutual interest and benefit.

Council on International Educational Exchange (Council) and Council Travel CIEE's mission is to help people gain understanding, acquire knowledge and develop skills for living in a globally interdependent and culturally diverse world. CIEE is the leading U.S. non-governmental international education organization. CIEE creates and administers programs that allow high school and university students and educators to study, volunteer, work and teach abroad. CIEE administers 60 study abroad programs in over 30 host countries, 800 volunteer projects in 30 host countries, work programs in Australia, Canada, Ireland and New Zealand and teaching programs in China and Thailand. Educators can participate in January and summer seminars in 20 countries.

ISEP, the International Student Exchange Program
The International Student Exchange Program (ISEP) was established in 1979, under authority of the Fulbright-Hays Act. Incorporated as an independent nonprofit organization in 1997, ISEP continues to facilitate the internationalization of member campuses and to offer affordable access to study abroad. The program is administered by a central office in Washington, DC, and by the designated coordinator at each member institution. ISEP is supported by member and participant fees.

The Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA) fosters mutual understanding between the United States and other countries through international educational and training programs. The bureau does so by promoting personal, professional, and institutional ties between private citizens and organizations in the United States and abroad, as well as by presenting U.S. history, society, art and culture in all of its diversity to overseas audiences.

The Global Alliance for Transnational Education (GATE)
The Global Alliance for Transnational Education® (GATE®) is an international organization concerned with issues relating to quality in Transnational Education (TNE). GATE has devised a standard of best practices (The Principles for Transnational Education) to which institutions should adhere when offering TNE; it also outlines a process of certification for these institutions that adhere to these Principles.
