What is Global Studies?

The Global Studies Certificate is a 15-hour academic certificate consisting of two required 3-hour courses:

SOCI 2374-Global Issues and Social Change
ECON 2311 or GEOG 2312-Economic Geography

The remaining 9 hours include a choice of courses in English, foreign languages, dance, anthropology, economics, geography, natural science, psychology, sociology, history, and art history.

All of the Global Studies courses transfer in the HCC core. This cross-disciplinary certificate would enhance your desirability as a transfer student to a four-year college or university, fulfill professional growth for educators and may give you an edge in the business world.

Information about the Global Studies Certificate is found in the HCC Catalog.
