English Language Skills Program

  • We offer a placement assessment and introductory, intermediate, and advanced courses to improve English-language learning and communication (listening, speaking reading, and writing).

Our courses are organized to follow successful completion from one level to another. The level-based courses focus on English-language communication skills that include listening, speaking, reading, and writing.

Assessment and orientation is required all prospective students of the English Language Skills Program. Students must be administered the placement assessment and must be prepared to register with tuition payment.

BASIC AND INTERMEDIATE LEVELS

  • Basic English Language Skills (60 hours), Learn beginning and oral English-language skills such as letter sounds, word patterns, short phrases, and workplace commands and responses.
  • English Language Skills 1 (60 hours), Learn skills to improve listening, speaking, reading, writing, and grammar about everyday tasks and routines for oral communication and understanding.
  • English Language Skills 2 (60 hours), Practice dynamic communicative skills by expanding vocabulary and workplace themes for comprehension.
  • English Language Skills 3 (60 hours, Improve comprehension and critical thinking skills to enhance listening, speaking, reading, and writing.
  • English Language Skills 4 (60 hours), Learn challenging industrial, business, and workforce-related terms to increase public communication in diverse settings.
  • English Language Skills 5 (60 hours), Practice challenging skills to increase thinking skills in the English language and for public communication in diverse settings. Prepare for interviews and performance assessments.

INTERMEDIATE AND ADVANCED LEVELS

  • Listening and Speaking (Intermediate and Advanced) (48 hours), Practice listening and speaking skills to develop academic and workplace English skills for public presentation and understanding.
  • Reading and Writing (Intermediate and Advanced) (48 hours), Practice reading to perceive general meaning by using context clues, skimming and scanning, identifying topic sentences, and identifying main ideas. Develop writing skills with emphasis on proper phrase and sentence structure and paragraph development.
  • Grammar Skills Workshop (Level I and Level II) (36 hours), Review verb tenses, grammatical patterns, sentence structures, and editing techniques for academic English communication.
  • Pronunciation (Level I and Level II) (36 hours), Improve your knowledge of sounds, words, rhythm, intonation, and sentences to lessen marked utterances and improve conversational understanding.
