How do I re-test?
Before re-testing, the chief examiner must have an official score report for all prior GED tests attempted. Official GED score reports may be obtained from the Texas Education Agency, GED unit at 512.463.9292, or the institution where you tested.

An examinee must wait 6 months to re-test or participate in an official GED preparation program. Upon completion of the review program, you will receive a re-test letter.

An examinee who is tutored by a certified teacher or who participates in an adult education program may be re-tested anytime after the instructor provides you with a re-test authorization letter.

Prior to re-testing, the chief examiner should receive a signed re-test authorization letter from the GED class instructor or a private tutor stating the examinee has received instruction and is prepared to re-test.

What are the re-test fees?
$10 for the writing skills test; $5 for each of the other tests
