  • Residency
  • Auditing a Class
    During the first week of classes, an individual may register to audit most academic courses in the humanities, mathematics/natural sciences or social sciences program areas.
  • Course Load
    A semester credit hour (SCH) student is full-time if the student is enrolled in 12 or more semester hours and is part-time if enrolled in fewer than 12 hours.
  • Directory Information/Review of Student Records
    The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act gives students certain rights with respect to their educational records.
  • Enrollment Verification
    Houston Community College has authorized the National Student Clearinghouse to provide enrollment and degree verification data third-party verification agencies, credit card companies ,credit approval agencies, employers or background screening firms.
  • Forms
    Academic Fresh Start, Application for Degree/Certificate, Change of Name and Address, Change of Residency, Confidentiality Request, Enrollment Verification, Repeat Exempt Courses, Transcript Release, Bacterial Meningitis Vaccination Verification Form
  • Grades
    Grades are available online within one week after the last final exam.
  • Returning Students
    Returning students are those who have not enrolled in classes at HCC in the last 12 months (fall and spring semesters only).
  • Third-Attempt Enrollment
    Houston Community College charges a higher tuition to students who are registering for a class for the third or subsequent time.
