The Records Management Program is of major importance and gives our organization legal defensibility and better customer service. Traditionally, this program has rarely been a high priority in our organization. However, our employees and faculty are aware that, typically the volume of recorded information, in all forms, grows quickly. If poorly managed, this volume can reduce efficiency, decrease customer or client service, and increase labor and other cost. Large volumes of records will also increase space requirements, create excessive litigation risk and cause other problems.
