Peace Officer Licensing Certificate
HCC Police Academy
The Basic Peace Officer licensing Academy consists of 688 hours of instruction approved by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officers Standards and Education (TCLEOSE). Curriculum topics include law, procedures, skills, and physical fitness. Upon successful completion, licensed qualified cadets can obtain law enforcement employment throughout the State of Texas. The academy is held at the Public Safety Institute located at Houston Community College Northeast Campus, 555 Community College Drive.
Prerequisites:
Applicants must meet all minimum entry requirements set forth by TCLEOSE and Houston Community College.
