Biosafety Technician - Gainful Employment at a Glance
According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment demand for these technicians is outstanding. These Technicians will be trained to assist all levels of management committed to furnishing places of employment and learning that are as free as possible from recognized biological hazards that may harm institutional personnel, visitors or the surrounding community. Students will be trained to anticipate, recognize, evaluate and control the potential hazards associated with biotechnology and other technology that is increasingly being used in various settings.
There is a growing need for Biosafety Technicians in health care institutions, research facilities, pharmaceutical industries, and petrochemical industries. This initiative is a means to have a workforce educated in biosafety to address increasing federal, state and local regulatory demands in all types of work environments. This one-year program will meet these demands by putting graduates into the workforce quickly.
