Jul 10, 2014

HCC teamed up with Alief ISD to provide a free three week STEM (Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics) camp for 10-14year olds at Taylor High School. The camp was started to expose minority students to the possibility of careers in STEM. This was the 3rd year HCC and Alief ISD held this camp, and there were 104 students in attendance. These young minds focused on three main subjects: forensics, engineering, and robotics. Students weren’t just lectured by teachers, but were encouraged to work with their hands and in teams to enhance their experience and to bond with one another.
