His strong determination to succeed allowed Mohamed to shatter the language barrier and earn his associate degree in information technology. The HCC graduate returned to Egypt and earned his bachelor's degree in information technology from The Higher Institute of Cooperative and Managerial Studies in Cairo. Mohamed didn't stop there; he came back to the U.S. and attended the University of Houston-Clear Lake, where he received his master's degree in Information Technology.

PUENTE, meaning "bridge," is a 30-year-old program that supports students of all ethnicities and backgrounds seeking to successfully graduate, transfer to a four-year college or university, earn a Bachelor's degree, and return to the community as a leader and mentor. The PUENTE project comprises academic and personal mentoring programs by partnering with families, schools, and communities to create a strong network to ensure student success.

Carefree children begin to understand the weight of responsibility and the obligations they are expected to uphold not only academically but socially as well. For most, this is enough of a challenge, but 14 Austin High School (AHS) students went above and beyond what was expected of them. They showed initiative, commitment and discipline by earning a Basic Welding Helper Certificate from Houston Community College (HCC) while also balancing their obligations as high-school juniors and seniors.

HCC and Jacobs announce August town hall meetings

Houston Community College (HCC) and its construction team, including Jacobs Program Management, have announced their August town hall meetings. These community engagement sessions are being held to inform the public about capital improvements related to new facilities that are part of HCC’s $425 million Groundbreaker Bond Program. HCC’s bond program provides 14 construction projects and new technologies across each of HCC’s six colleges.
