C.6 Nondiscrimination on the Basis of Disability

The Board requires and promotes a fair and equal work environment free of decisions based on disability status. The College does not discriminate against qualified individuals with a disability because of disability in regard to application procedures; hiring, advancement, or discharge; employee compensation; job training; and other terms, conditions, and privileges of employment. Discrimination includes not making reasonable accommodations to the known physical or mental limitations of an otherwise qualified individual with a disability, unless the College can demonstrate that the accommodation would impose an undue hardship on the College.The College shall not exclude or deny employment or benefits to, or otherwise discriminate against, a qualified individual because of the known disability of an individual with whom the qualified individual is known to have a family, business, social, or other relationship or association.

Under Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act and the Americans with Disabilities Act Amendments Act of 2008 (ADAAA), the Board is required to identify a coordinator who can assist employees and others with disability discrimination and/or accommodation issues.
