The Board of Trustees at Houston Community College has authorized the Chancellor, Dr. Cesar Maldonado, to submit an application to the Commission on Presidential Debates in support of hosting a 2016 presidential or vice presidential debate.

In an effort to answer the call for more classroom space and enhanced facilities, Houston Community College continues to make progress on its $425 million Groundbreaker Bond Program. On Feb. 24, HCC will hold a town hall meeting for the new Science Technology Engineering and Math (STEM) facility at the HCC Southeast Felix Fraga Academic Campus.

Jake Freund says he has been retired for 18 years, but his colleagues at the Houston Area Sheet Metal Training Center might argue that. The former Houston Community College Sheet Metal instructor says the training center is his “second home” where he still occasionally pokes his head into a classroom, tinkers in the workshop, and enjoys talking with others in the business.
