HCC major: Science Career ambition: University professor in mathematics and researcher.
Next college: Texas A&M University “As a recipient of the Black History Scholarship, plan to graduate with an Associate’s degree in the fall of 2018, and obtain my Bachelor’s degree in mathematics. Then, I plan to enroll in graduate school, obtain an M.A. in Mathematics, and later obtain a Ph.D. in mathematics and become a university professor and researcher at the same time.”

Janel Blair

HCC major: Biology Career ambition: Neurosurgeon Next college: Columbia University “This (BHC) scholarship helps me reassure  myself that I am worth something and can accomplish anything I set my mind to.”

Julian Cleare

HCC major: Culinary Arts Career ambition: Private chef and restauranteur Next college: Prairie View A&M. “It (BHC scholarship) means so much to me because it allowed me to focus on school rather than how I’m going to pay for the class.”

HCC major: Real Estate Career ambition: Real Estate certification /Psychology Next college: Belhaven University “I intend on ensuring that the HCC Foundation makes good on its  investment they made into me and my children’s lives.”

HCC major: Business Accounting Career ambition: Oil & Gas accountant and franchise owner Next college: University of Houston “The Black History Scholarship is more than a  scholarship. It is an opportunity to soar in academics.”
