Duke Realty, one of the largest commercial real estate companies in the United States with industrial, office and medical office properties in 20 major U.S. cities, has an opportunity for a Superintendent to join our construction team in our Houston, TX office. Candidates must be attracted to a fast paced environment where responsiveness and customer service are highly valued. A predisposition towards teamwork and personal responsibility will be critical to a candidate’s success. Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:

 

  • Overall management of field operations on assigned projects, including the direction, coordination, and scheduling of contractors; monitoring project progress and material orders as well as quality control inspections.
  • Establish & maintain good relations with Owner and Owner's representatives. Proactively communicate deadlines, expectations and critical issues with the company’s clients, and have a clear understanding of the contractual obligations between Duke Realty and the Client.
  • Establish quality control on the project. At the outset of the project, develop and implement a project specific plan which focuses on Quality Assurance and Quality Control. Establish an environment of QA/QC through proactive management of preparatory meetings prior to the installation of any major components of work.
  • Responsible for the review and filing of all project documents (drawings, permits, specifications, contracts/subcontracts, purchase orders, shop drawing, etc.)
  • Review and comply with company Safety Policies and enforce jobsite safety.
  • Assist Project Manager in coordination with Property Manager/Owner Representative in pursuing and completing all initial warranty work.
  • Be familiar and understand LEED requirements for the project, if applicable. This would include a focus on operational aspects of the project LEED strategies (i.e. recycling). Have a ready knowledge of LEED strategies to ensure compliance with all LEED credits.
  • Collaborate with the Project Manager on the creation and execution of a project specific Project Close-out Plan.
  • May perform other duties as assigned by Manager.

Requirements

  • 5 years construction experience with a minimum of 2 years as a Construction Superintendent. Commercial Real Estate environment desired.
  • Proven track record in management and coordination of contracts, ability to manage and direct Subcontractors and General Contractors, and maintain relationships
  • Possess strong initiative and effective organizational skills.
  • Attention to detail, and ability to multitask and prioritize workload.
  • Ability to establish and maintain rapports and interact with various levels of professionals.
  • Demonstrated experience working with MS Office Suite to include Word, Excel, and Outlook. Experience using MS Project strongly desired.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Willing to travel to other markets as needed to assist with projects.

General Laborers Needed

General Laborers Needed

                                                              

Company needs general laborers as soon as possible. Right now he needs 6-10 people, but he will need more in the future.

 

The pay is up to $12/hour and the client is located in North Houston (Cypress Fairbanks and 290 area). The minimum pay is $10. If you have any guys with previous experience (even just warehouse experience) I am sure they could get $12/hour.

 

They need first and second shift people. The hours are 4am-2pm and 1pm-9pm Monday-Saturday.

 

Veterans do not have to have any previous skills and will be working in the company’s warehouse shop that is so clean you could eat off the floor. They need to be okay with standing throughout the day, lifting up to 50 lbs., and working with their hands. The company provides shirts for employess to wear and will give them a stipend to buy steel toed shoes.

 

The company makes a dowhole tools for drilling. They are wonderful to work for…and the recruiter at Adroit says “I never have anyone leave.”

 

The positions are direct hire and once an employee gets in and does a good job, there is room to grow with the company and learn more.

 

This is a really good opportunity with benefits, etc. in a rapidly growing, fantastic company.

 

Candidates need to be able to pass a background check as well (no felonies) and no misdemeanors that involved theft or violence.

The School of Automotive Machinists is looking to hire an Admissions Representative.  They are a high performance racing school and what sets them apart is their unique curriculum that is dedicated to building race engines.

With courses that cover engine block machining, short-block assembly, and cylinder head porting, they can teach students how to extract maximum horsepower for all types of applications.

By combining lessons in the classroom with practical hands-on experience in the lab, on the dyno and at the track, they offer the most comprehensive education around. It is no surprise that top race engine shops in the country call them looking for graduates.

They are looking to hire a veteran that is willing to travel to various military bases across the country to attend Career/Education Fairs.  When they are not traveling, they will be based out of our school in Houston and working with our admissions team to assist prospective students that would like to attend. 

Starting salary will be in the 40k range and depends on experience.

Description:

This position is responsible for selecting product and loading trucks (i.e., moving product between the loading dock and the warehouse and moving product within the warehouse) with a high degree of accuracy and great sense of urgency while meeting standards within McLane established guidelines.

  • Review documents and record information verifying quantity, identity, availability and condition of product.
  • Drive and operate the reach truck, pallet jack and fork truck to select, pull, sort, and stack product within the warehouse and dock.
  • Work any shift including weekends.
  • Hand stack product on occasion when off balance or in the wrong location.
  • Shrink-wrap and label outgoing orders and remove shrink wrap from incoming orders.
  • Meet this position's physical demands.

Qualifications:

  • Have a High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Have 1-2 years of FOODSERVICE SELECTION distribution warehouse experience
  • Pallet building and pallet jack experience required
  • Be able to read and comprehend labels, instructions, and bills of lading.Be able to perform mathematical calculations involving addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division to verify quantities of product.
  • Be able to apply understanding of problems involving some variables.
  • Possess strong problem solving skills and excellent time management skills.
  • Be able to deliver customer satisfaction within McLane guidelines.
  • Independent discretion/judgment, but work well in a team environment as well
