ADMISSION STEPS

 

PHARMACY TECHNICIAN

(6 Months - Full Time/1-Year Part-Time)

                                                                                  

The applicant must complete and submit an “HCCS Application for Admissions” on-line at http://saweb.hccs.edu if no previous enrollment or testing activity has taken place at HCCS.

 

REQUIREMENTS FOR ADMISSION

_____1.  Attend Pharmacy Technician Information Session at Coleman College for Health

Sciences.  Information Sessions are held the first and third Tuesday of every   month, at 1pm in the campus auditorium.

_____2.  Submit the following documentation to the Welcome Center/Room 111, located at 1900 Pressler St., Houston, TX 77030.

·        Application for Health Sciences

·        Official high school transcript or official GED scores or proof of college level courses

·        College transcript(s). Foreign transcripts (high school and college) that are submitted must be evaluated by approved HCCS evaluation services.

·        Take the appropriate placement test given at HCCS or provide proof of passing TASP.  Placement test scores must make you eligible for MATH 0312, GUST 0342, ENGL 0310, or provide transcript showing completion of MATH 0308, GUST 0341 and ENGL 0300 or higher with a grade of “C” or better.

·        Completion of HPRS 1201 “Introduction to Health Professions” is required.

_____3.  Wait to be contacted by department for interview.

_____4.   If accepted, register for classes by deadline.

_____5.  If accepted, a condition of placement into clinical rotations is the passing of a

              criminal background check and drug screening by an agency approved by HCCS.                           This is to be completed after acceptance but prior to the start of clinical rotations.

_____6.  Pay tuition.

INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

·       All International Students with F1 visa interested in Health Sciences Program MUST contact the International Student Operations Office at 3100 Main, Houston, Texas 77002, 11th floor, corner of Main and Elgin,713-718- 8520.

·       Foreign transcripts (high school and college) must be evaluated by an approved evaluation institution

       (Ex.SpanTran,Global Credentials) and it must be a course-by-course evaluation.

START OF CLASSES

·       Classes begin every spring and fall semester. Courses are taught during the day.

APPLICATION DEADLINES

·        SPRING: Priority deadline is Nov 1st. Final application deadline is Dec 1st, if seats are available.

·        FALL: Priority deadline is June 1st. Final application deadline is July 1st, if seats are available.
